Deer Hill Masking and District Spacing

Greetings Cohasset Families,

At last evening’s Cohasset School Committee Meeting (2/2/2022), the Cohasset School Committee voted to adjust the masking / face covering policy to make masking optional for all students and staff at Deer Hill School, once official approval is received from the Department of Elementary and Secondary Education (DESE). This policy adjustment was made in conjunction with the DESE and the Department of Health (DPH) allowance for schools that have reached the 80% vaccination threshold. When official approval is received, Deer Hill will be mask optional for all students and staff, regardless of vaccination status. I will inform the school community in the coming days regarding the exact start date of this mask optional allowance for Deer Hill School.

In addition, at last evening’s Cohasset School Committee Meeting, the Committee was informed of the District’s intention to remove all spacing restrictions, in all of our buildings, beginning after February break. This change will fully re-establish our cafeterias as dining spaces and our gymnasiums as exercising spaces in all schools within the district. Have a nice afternoon.

Sincerely,

Patrick Sullivan, Ed.D.
