Adjustment Counseling Services

  • Adjustment counselors serve as liaisons between home, school, local social service agencies or outside therapists. Through individual consultation, small group workshops, and classroom visits our adjustment counselors help students articulate strategies to manage anxiety, stressors and relationships.

  • At Cohasset Middle High School Leanne McCarthy and Emily Manewal work together as School Adjustment Counselors to service students in grades 6-12. We are a resource to help students with transitions, emotional struggles, peer interpersonal difficulties and academic stressors. We work with students both individually and in small groups. Our focus is to help support all students' social emotional needs while they are here at school. Additionally, we provide referrals and support in accessing community counselors and therapists. We work collaboratively with many outside service professionals to provide a cohesive approach to support each student's individual needs.

Please reach out to either of us at anytime with any questions or concerns you may have.

    We are here to help!

It has been my pleasure to work as one of Cohasset Middle High School's Adjustment Counselors since 2012, previously working in Illinois as a School Counselor since 2004 following my graduation from the University of Illinois at Chicago with a Master's Degree in Social Work. Living on the South Shore is a wonderfully beautiful change from all my years in the Midwest. I have come to love the ocean and spend most of my summer days enjoying the beach with my husband and three (very) active young boys.
