The CARES program will provide an additional $600/week to claimants. The money is retroactive from 3/29/2020 and ends on 7/31/2020.
* Those currently receiving benefits will get the additional $600 per week and do not need to do anything to receive it.
*Those who need to apply for regular unemployment will also receive the $600 benefit.
*Self employed/1099 employees who are not eligible for traditional unemployment benefits will be able to apply for benefits later this month. The goal date is to have the system in place on 4/30/2020 to begin to apply and benefits will be retroactive to 2/2/2020.

If you live in Boston, please call 311 and they will assist seniors with the meals on wheels application.
You can apply online for foodstamps. The Greater Boston Food Bank (www.gbfb.org) can assist you with the application and identify food resources in your area.
