• Star Student of the Week

Star Student of the Week is part of our Social Studies Program. It is designed to do several things:

    • Provide an opportunity for each child to share with the class things that are special and representative of the child: family, interests, mementoes, and books to name a few.
    • Develop an understanding that differences among people are what make each of us unique and special.
    • Provide activities to enhance each child’s self-esteem and recognize positive qualities in each other.

During that week you are asked to provide the following:

    • A full size poster board with pictures representing your child’s life from birth until present.
    • Have your child bring one or two favorite things to share with the class (in lieu of show-and-tell).
    • Your student will present their poster and items on Friday afternoon of their week at 2:40. Please make sure posters are in by Wednesday for students to enjoy prior to the presentation. If the Friday timeslot doesn’t work for your family, please communicate with me asap. If your week doesn’t work, please try to swap with another family.
    • Families are invited to attend the Friday presentation. A family member is also invited to read a favorite picture book with the class immediately following this presentation. This is a wonderful opportunity to expose the students to quality children’s literature!

I hope that you and your child will enjoy this very special week!
