 The SAT was redesigned for the March 2016 administration.  Here are some examples of key changes:

• Greater emphasis on measurement of what you learned in high school
• De-emphasis of vocabulary
• Writing section will now be optional and focus on analyzing and evaluating an entire passage without emphasis on personal opinion
• Mathematics will now include through basic Trigonometry with a stronger emphasis on Algebra
• There will be no penalty for incorrect answers
