We are excited to announce that the state of Massachusetts has extended free meals for all students permanently regardless of income. This allows every Cohasset Public Schools student access to breakfast and lunch at no charge. We encourage families to take advantage of this opportunity that will provide nutritious meals to all students.

Second lunches will be charged at regular price. Middle/High school: $3.00, Elementary schools: $2.75. Milk, juice, and small bottle of water are $.50 if purchased without a meal. A la carte snacks will be available for purchase as offered. Students must have money to purchase all of these items.

Menus will be posted on our website, www.cohassetk12.org, under the “Nutrition” tab.

Free and Reduced Application: Only fill out a free and reduced application if you might qualify for EBT benefits through the state and for fee waivers for district fees such as bus. Meals are free for all students regardless of income.

Good nutrition and learning go hand in hand.

Nutritious and Delicious!

Dear Cohasset Families,

Cohasset school cafeterias meet all federal nutrition standards for school meals, ensuring that meals are healthy and well-balanced and provide students all the nutrition they need to succeed at school. Now is a great time to encourage your kids to choose school lunch!

School meals have always offered students milk, fruits and vegetables, and proteins and grains, and they must meet strict limits on saturated fat and portion size. School lunches meet standards requiring:

- Age-appropriate calorie limits

- Larger servings of vegetables and fruits (students must take at least one serving of produce)

- A wider variety of vegetables, including dark green and red/orange vegetables and legumes

- Fat-free or 1% milk (flavored milk must be fat-free)

- More whole grains

- Less sodium

We’re always working to offer Cohasset students healthier and tastier choices, and we are proud of the selection we offer. School meals are a great value and a huge convenience for busy families, too. We use the Nutrikids online system at all schools. Nutrikids allows you to prepay for students’ meals and monitor what your children eat each day. Visit www.myschoolbucks.com for more information.

We look forward to welcoming your children to the cafeteria!

Thank you,

Vinicio Cordon
